Social Media Designer | Canva Expert for Instagram and Facebook

The 92nd Street Y, New York is a cultural and community institution with a vibrant mix of programming, from major cultural moments and entertainment to arts, education, wellness and serious conversations about the issues shaping our world. Our social channels reflect that same range of audiences, interests and content.

We are looking for an experienced social media designer to work with our social team on a planned, periodic basis, creating compelling assets for our events, performances, classes and other social content, with a primary focus on Instagram and Facebook.

What We Need

Design social assets for events, performances, classes and institutional content.

Create assets in both Instagram grid and Story sizes, adapting creative appropriately for each format.

Develop additional social first graphics and assets as needs and opportunities arise.

Be a Canva super user, creating polished social assets efficiently while building and organizing designs our team can easily access, adapt and use.

Work within our established brand guidelines while bringing a strong social design sensibility to the work.

Create assets that can flex across the wide range of programming and audiences at 92NY.

Work efficiently with our social team to support an active content calendar and regular creative needs.

Who We Are Looking For

Someone with strong social media design experience and advanced Canva expertise, with a portfolio that demonstrates excellent typography, composition and visual storytelling. You should understand how design works differently on social and know what makes creative feel current, engaging and native to Instagram and Facebook.

Experience designing for arts, culture, entertainment, events or similarly diverse organizations is a plus.
