Job Description:

  • Partner with the Sr. Director, BD Excellence Innovation and R&D leaders to scale tools and processes globally and embed them into product development.
  • Build BU R&D capability and self-sufficiency by strengthening continuous improvement competencies and a Kaizen culture.
  • Implement and sustain processes and digital enablement for enterprise-wide information sharing across business units.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making through coaching, training, and mentoring on best-practice methods and toolsets.
  • Engage global stakeholders to evolve the BD Excellence Innovation ecosystem and optimize Obeya execution.
  • Provide hands-on support to worldwide business units to solve mission-critical cross-functional challenges.
  • Facilitate training and adoption of new Obeya deployments with ongoing leader and associate support.
  • Establish and expand Certified Practitioner networks for Obeya, Visual Project Management, and Problem Solving.
  • Deliver innovation toolbox training through digital or instructor-led sessions.
  • Track tool adoption and performance; use bowlers, KPIs, and action plans to improve effectiveness and visibility.
  • Represent the Sr. Director, BD Excellence Innovation in meetings and workshops as needed.
  • Identify improvement opportunities within and outside innovation.
  • Achieve and maintain Certified Practitioner status to teach BD Excellence fundamentals and facilitate problem-solving and Kaizen sessions across commercial, innovation, and operations teams.
  • Report to the Sr. Director, BD Excellence Innovation.

Requirements:

  • University bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Ten (10)+ years of MedTech industry experience within R&D, Innovation or Engineering with a proven track record of driving processes to achieve results.
  • Eight (8)+ years proven experience in a company with continuous improvement culture and embedded visual management, problem solving, and kaizen tools.
  • Extensive experience using Lean tools.
  • Outstanding analytical skill set and background.
  • Proven cross-functional/matrixed organizational problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft ecosystem tools such as Azure DevOps, Project, Planner, and Power BI.
  • Ability to facilitate complex cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and training skills in person and virtually.
  • Proven strategic agility with a growth mindset.
  • Ability to work through complexity in a complex, matrixed environment and demonstrate success within an accelerated time frame.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success driving business impact through continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives, particularly in commercial organizations and highly dynamic environments.
  • Experience in R&D or an Innovation field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a regulatory environment (FDA) or Healthcare and/or MedTech is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of applying change management.
  • Experience requiring extensive travel to where work is performed.
  • Proven experience succeeding as the subject matter expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environments and needs.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, approximately 75%.
